Plot

Exhumed weaves together a triogy of gory yarns bound by one common theme...the living dead...
STORY ONE : SHI NO MORI (THE FOREST OF DEATH)
Set in feudal Japan, the first short finds a samurai and a monk vying to find a strange and ancient “artifact” that brings the dead back to life in the Forest of Death. They quickly realize this is the least of their troubles, as they discover that the artifact is already working its wicked magic, and the forest is crawling with the hungry undead.

STORY TWO: THE SHADOW OF TOMORROW
A film noir thriller filmed in authentic black and white, THE SHADOW OF TOMORROW is the story of a female detective who stumbles into a twisted web of dark secrets that involves a burlesque dancer, a corrupt cop and a mad scientist with a penchant for stealing bodies. A bizarre and sudden ending cleverly ties the tale to SHI NO MORI’s ancient legend.

STORY THREE: THE LAST RUMBLE
Fast-forwarding into the post-apocalyptic future, THE LAST RUMBLE features battling gangs of vampire mods and rockabilly werewolves captured and experimented on by a fanatical madman. Graphic dismemberments, loud-as-hell explosions and plenty of zombies lead to a masterful ending that ties together all three century-spanning tales with a common plot thread of time travel and the object from which the power of resurrection is derived.
