Plot

As horror movies go, this one starts out innocently enough – back in 1984, when a group of five students were gruesomely murdered in an abandoned resort hotel. They had broken in as part of a local rite of passage, and attempted to spend the night camping out. Their bodies were found a few days later. Their murderer was believed to be a drifter, but was not apprehended. What the newspapers at the time failed to mention was that the police, at the insistence of one of the bereaved parents, called in a psychic to locate the murderer. After handling the victim’s personal effects, the psychic claimed to glimpse the murderer’s face – and insisted that he was still inside the abandoned hotel. An exhaustive sweep was immediately conducted through every floor of the sprawling facility, but no one was ever found. That night, the psychic died in her sleep. The search was not continued, and the murderer was never caught. Now, after more than 20 years, another group of students are daring to enter the hotel, to take what they call the Tour of Fear: during the course of one night, they will visit each of the five rooms where the high schoolers were killed. And when they accidentally discover a severed hand in one of these rooms, they unwittingly rouse a deadly force within the grounds of the hotel – and unleash a bloodbath upon themselves. Because what they do not realize is that they have actually stumbled upon a mystery which dates back nearly a century. The Royal Crescent Hotel had been a world-class operation, attracting the highest echelon of clientele: royalty, film stars, presidents. But then the unthinkable happened, and the Royal Crescent plunged into disrepute followed by bankruptcy and anonymity. And now the unthinkable is about to happen once again. That is, unless these students can solve the century-old mystery and save their own souls
