Plot
Every 23rd spring for 23 days, it gets to eat…..
It is now the 22nd day in The Creeper's bizarre and ritualistic feeding. The ancient flesh-eating creature has one last day to feast before it disappears again, lying in wait for its next feeding season. On a deserted highway in the area, a school bus carries a varsity basketball team and its cheerleaders and coaches back from a triumphant state championship game. When the bus breaks down on a lonely stretch of road, the thrill of victory is quickly replaced with a sense of foreboding. Reports of the unspeakable horrors found in the newly discovered lair of The Creeper are trickling in on the radio. There is no help in sight, their cell phones are out of range, and their calls for assistance on the two-way radio are met with silence.
Analysis Director Victor Salva has been on the horror movie scene for longer than some might care to remember having started his feature film career with the 1988 Clownhouse and then on with a few sporadic titles until his cult horror hit Jeepers Creepers in 2001. Whilst it attained high praise from most fright lovers It still felt like it lacked that special spark that would ensure it's place in the horror hall of fame. When Salva announced that his follow up movie would be a continuation in the series, much anticipation and hope surrounded the upcoming release.
The movie continues on from where the last left off as police investigators unearth hundreds of bodies within the old burnt out church and rumors circulate amongstthe small farming community of strange occurrences out on East Highway 9. As the Creepers feeding cycle begins to near it's conclusion the creature decides to treat himself to 'meals on wheels' and heads out in search of a bed time snack which consists of a basketball team and their cheerleaders. Here is where the fun really starts as the coach they are traveling in comes under attack from the Creeper. The atmosphere builds nice and slow at first ensuring that the viewers aren't bombarded with too much horror leaving room for the film to peak as the creature reveals itself fully to the horrified teens. The scenes that occur on the bus have a great atmosphere born out of the claustrophobia and panic that washes over the Creepers victims only to be augmented further in the scenes which bear witness to the Creeper's victim selection process, truly the most outstanding part of the film.
The temptation to go overboard with the Creeper footage has been too great for the special effects team and this time nothing is left to the imagination with just about every aspect of the creatures physics on display in all it's slimy detail. This approach is an inevitability in movie sequels and does reveal a few interesting moments such as body regeneration, but to say anymore would be wholly improper!!
As a horror creature The Creeper's appeal is obvious, yet no attempt has been made to build on the characters mysterious origin. To avoid the same trappings as the endless Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm Street series you need to inject some fresh material and ensure that the kicks don't just come from the set piece killings. Unfortunately this film is merely more of the same meaning that nothing new has been included other than different victims in an ever so slightly different setting.

Action
The action kicks in around the 60 minute mark and involves the arrival of a past victim's father armed with a modified fencing tool and a taste for vengeance.
Tension
When the team are hauled up in the broken down bus a tremendous air of doom and claustrophobia befouls the moment. This heightens the tension whilst each member deals with the horror in their own personnel way.

Violence/
Gore
Although it does have it's moments of onscreen bloodletting, these are surprisingly tame for such a genre specific title and instead of beating the first movie for it's gore, it actually come a slight second.

Nope, nothing going on here!

Plot
Basically a continuation from the first film that offers no dramatic developments as far as the story goes.

Verdict Massive fans of the first film will love this one without any question but if the material in the first left you lifeless and limp, then you'll find nothing here to lift your lagging spirits apart from a little tension. Although the first film could be viewed as a freak success, the opportunity to develop a sound base for a credible series has, in our opinion, been lost.
