Plot
The story continues and the hit list gets shorter. Uma Thurman is out to finish the job by killing Bill (David Carradine). But she still has a few scores to settle along the way. Her victims better be afraid as there seems there is no stopping this raged woman. The big bombshell at the end of Volume 1 was her daughter is alive. How will this effect the brides quest of revenge and will she eventually get to Kill Bill?
Analysis The bride is back for the final cut. After volume 1 every viewer wants to know how this tale is to end.
Tarantino originally wanted the film to be shown as one continous story but the length forced the production company to show it as two. So that’s twice the income if your looking at it from a money perspective, but also from a viewers perspective it seems like a very good choice that the film was split. Volume 1 was a fast paced action movie full of fight scenes. Volume 2 although still containing some action runs at a far slower pace and contains more flashbacks to fill in the blanks and holes left after volume 1. Tarantino uses volume 2 to develop the characters further and there is much more dialogue compared to the first movie. But the movie still is full of martial arts and western references so don’t be put off.
Thurman and Carradines characters really shine through with excellent performances from both. You really do want ‘The Bride‘ to triumph throughout the movie as we learn just what a character Bill is. Even though the story is full of blood and violence, Tarantino still manages to get his comedy moments across. I don’t really want to say much about the humour so that I don’t give amusing sections away. Only mentioning that I particularly liked the training flash backs with the bride and Pai Mei. The scene with her trying to punch her fist through a thick piece of wood with her master hitting her on the head every time she failed had me in stitches. I also like the use of different film qualities and the black and white sections Tarantino opts for throughout the various scenes from the movie. Again like all his other films, the soundtracks chosen go really well within the film segments they feature.
After thoroughly enjoying volume 1, I eagerly awaited the release of the second and final instalment and I was far from disappointed.

Action

|
Far less action than volume 1 but when the fights kick off, the swords get swinging and the death punches start ringing.

Tension
|
|
‘The bride’ really does take a beating and you really do wonder how she’s going to survive this movie. The tension is really built up in several scenes especially the burial.

Violence/
Gore

|
The gore and death count is far lower than volume 1 but don’t be put off. The 'eye' scene alone gets you cringing in your seat, be warned.

Verdict A fantastic conclusion to a classic revenge story. Told in a no holds barred Tarantino style. Well worth the admission fee and leaving you feeling very satisfied that its money well spent.
