Plot
Now out of College, the hapless Cindy Campbell is a TV News Anchorwoman. Within a matter of days, Cindy is summoned to investigate the mysterious crop circles on Tom Logan's farm, and discover the eerie secret behind the death of a close friend. Whilst on her journey, Cindy pays a visit to Orpheus, who explains to her that she is "The One", and prophesises that she must help the President of the United States in preventing a full scale alien invasion.
Analysis Now in it's third installment, this horror comedy spoof needs little introduction leaving no stone unturned in it's seemingly never ending quest to find the funny side of serious fantasy films ensuring that, on it's merry way, it thrusts it's unique brand of mildly offensive yet some how hilarious humour right down your cake hole.
This time around the Wayans brother's have stepped aside to allow the Daddy of movie spoofs to take the helm by appointing David Zucker, Director/Producer and Writer of arguably the best spoof film of all time 'Airplane', as Director in charge of ridiculous humour. With writing duties still being undertaken by Shawn and Marlon Wayans, there seems no shortage of keen eyed talent ready to apply a sarcastically cruel spin on the movies we all know and love. Mixed into the melee of movie parody's are tittles such as 'The Matrix', 'Signs', 'The Ring', 'The Others' and '8 Mile' with slightly less obvious ties to 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' and 'Darkness Falls'. As per the norm for the Scary Movie franchise, instead of the running time being made up of one long spoof of horror films in general, we get lots of loosely linked segments that poke fun at particular scenes from other films making it a great experience for those that have seen the source material but the rest of us will have to find amusement from the visual gags. This is perhaps a more important element than one would first realise and my personnel experience is that more enjoyment comes from these films when you can laugh along with the film makers intension to directly satire the material that gave birth to the scene in the first place. With out that you merely laugh at the pie in the face rather than the hand that flung it.
I must admit that this is the first time I have seen any of the Scary Movie films on the big screen and saw the first two on DVD some months after their theatrical release. Although I love the style of silly comedy that comes from films like 'Airplane', 'Naked Gun' and 'Hot Shots', I found the first film a bit of a novelty for a horror fan with the second being a much improved experience, but found that I laughed very little at both. However, whether it was the company or the big screen or my mood, I found myself crying with laughter at what seemed at the time to be one of the funniest things I had seen in a long time. There really is some genuinely funny moments that had me in hysterics and having viewed nearly all the films that were being spoofed, I got a lot of the subtle jokes as well. The next day, when recounting my cinema going experience, I found that very little had stuck in my memory and that only a few of the key scenes had been filed away by my brain indicating that, although very absorbing at the time, it is pretty unremarkable.
In all honesty, you will fall into one of two categories with a film like this, the first is the kind of person who gets off on a tongue in cheek slapstick romp and the second is somebody who would rather cross the road than be seen standing next to the poster for a film like this. Which are you?

Action
A few minor moments that have a loose link to action but nothing that could be classed as adrenalin pumping stuff.
Tension
None
Any mildly tense moments are quickly quashed by an anvil dropping on somebody's head.
Violence/
Gore
Violence in the spirit of the 'The Three Stooges' but nothing more than a kick in the happy sacks and a skirmish with a group of disabled people (yes, you did read that right) to make you cringe.
Bare Flesh
None
The film opens with some heaving bosoms thanks to the silicone implants of Pamela Anderson and Jenny McCarthy but unlike Pam's 'other' film, we get no nudity here.

Plot
There's a plot in there some where but It gets very lost amongst the chopping from one spoofed scene to the next.
Verdict A very funny film that is sure to please anyone who likes their comedy as subtle as a kick in the arse. You will chuckle, but don't expect to remember what the hell it was that you found so amusing.
