Analysis
At the end of 2001, a little known movie dropped through my letter box titled 'Blood for the Muse'. This is significant in two ways. To start with, this was the very first movie that The Film Asylum had ever been sent to review, and secondly the director of this movie was a guy named Terry M West. I remember not being the biggest fan of his movie but I kept the criticism positive and was ultimately very flattered that Terry sent me an eMail thanking me for the review. Now that's the kind of thing that sticks in your mind and I will forever be grateful to Mr West for taking the time to respond.

So what the hell has all this got to do with Satan's School for Lust (SSFL), well Terry M West is the main man yet again and has taken the helm as director for this erotic horror movie from Shock-O-Rama Cinema. The basic premise of the film (and it is basic) is that of a secluded girls boarding school that has the unfortunate reputation of being a little clumsy when looking after it's student body. Several go missing every year, yet parents still send their beloved children there like lambs to the slaughter. Speaking of slaughter, if any of you have ever seen the W.A.V.E film 'Hayride Slaughter' then you will already be familiar with the lovely Barbara Joyce (is it just me or is Barabara the spitting image of Kim Basinger) who plays the schools ball-busting principal. Along with Barabara are the usual erotic horror babes including Misty Mundae, Darian Caine and the heavenly Kelli Summers. This was the first time I had seen a movie with Kelli in it and I was not disappointed with her...ahem....performance. Misty plays the main role as Primula Cooper who gets sent to the school for a few weeks by her father.

The film itself was a little dull. The plot was paper thin and relied on titillation rather than plot. Every second scene consisted of another fake lesbian coupling which is all well and good but they just seemed to go on forever. If a little more variety had been used then perhaps the pace of the film would have been improved, instead the 80 minutes felt more like 120. The only exception to this came when Barbara Joyce and Kelli Summers shared a bedroom scene, if they had been on the surface of the sun I don't think they could have been any hotter.

On a technical side, the lighting seemed to be inconsistent when cutting between actors who where sharing the same scene. One minute you would have Barbara sitting in a chair talking to Kelli across the room with the light being very washed out and cold, and the next it would cut to Kelli replying to Barabara bathed in a warm red glow. I suppose that this 'technique' could have been deliberate to try and exaggerate the forces of good and evil but it was just too harsh a contrast.

The other thing was a sound issue that only occurred occasionally but would cause all natural background noise to be deadened when no one was talking. Not the end of the world but still a little distracting.

The most positive part to this film has to be the addition to the cast of Kelli Summers and Barbara Joyce, the best looking ladies that Seduction Cinema have on their books. Are either of you looking for a husband?

Key Area Rating (out of 5)  Comment
Action
None
This is not an action flick and as such has absolutely no action.
Thrills/
Tension
A tiny bit of tension encloses the first scene with the creepy looking red-haired mask wearer appearing in the background. If they had continued with this theme then this would have scored higher but they didn't.
Violence/
Gore
A crucifix gets shoved somewhere very private and emerges all bloody and dripping. Some guy also gets his neck stretched for being crap at fake sex. Serves him right.
Bare Flesh
Lots of simulated sex scenes, most of them lesbian, lead to a whole host of nudity. Barbara Joyce and Kelli Summers must have come to our planet from heaven as they are so delightful in every way. If you are fans of theirs, you will not be disappointed.
Plot
Something about a school and girls disapearing............ahhhhh Barbara, ohhhh Kelli, sorry I got distracted for a second. As always with this type of film, the plot is incidental.

Verdict
Yep, another erotic horror film that has absolutely no substance and looks technically ropey. The lighting is not all that great and even the soundtrack seems to get bored and give up the ghost between dialogue. But listen guys this is not supposed to be a work of art. Look at Pic 1 and Pic 2 below and tell me that these girls aren't to die for. That's the point. We have to examine films as if we were your average Saturday night Blockbuster renter. So this scores low because of that alone. At least you know what to expect from this movie and if you expect our demand nudity from great looking girls then this could be right up your dark alley.

Satan's spawn.
